management counseling Next, listen to your counselors at your anger management counseling sessions and let them guide you. You would be given a few steps to follow so obey those steps and do not object, remember, this is for your own good and well being. If a family member or friends have signed you up for this, do not get angry at them as they are doing it out of concern and care. The first thing your counselor would do is help you accept the fact that you have a problem and lead you out of denial. As anger affects the body and mood of the person, you should be able to accept your problem and not deny it any further. Then, identify the anger that you are experiencing. When you are calm and relaxed, try to think of the last time you burst out in rage. Then think about the reasons and causes of anger, why did it occur? What triggered it? If there is a specific something that upsets you, work with that and learn how to face such obstacles. If you are just angered by imperfections and mistakes, then you’d have to learn to deal with them instead. Whatever you do, do not run away from your problems, work on them and do better. Aside from that, think about how you react when you’re full of rage and anger. Do you get physically abusive or verbally abusive? It is important for you to realize these things as it would be useful information to your therapist to help you through your anger management counseling sessions. Also, slowly learn to change your destructive anger to constructive. Destructive anger is when you turn to drugs, alcohol, accusations and trouble those around you. Take the energy from all that and channel it into something healthier such as working out or meditating which is constructive. Learn to control your emotions and get a grip when something triggers off that rage button in your mind. As long as you accept the fact that you’ve got a problem and continuously attend anger management counseling sessions, you would be able to control yourself and stay content later on in life. Remember, the earlier you take charge, the better you life will be. |
